With all the hoopla around Floyd Landis, his move to Rock Racing, and his recent interview with a New Zealand newspaper, it seemed time for me to once again reach out and set the record straight.
With two stages of the Powernet Tour of the Southland completed I asked Landis how the racing was going. “I still haven’t seen a single kangaroo,” was his reply. My query about the conditions of the race elicited a story of almost crashing on a possum. When pressed on how he could tell if it was a possum or perhaps a platypus, Landis could not answer. Upon further reflection he thought it was undoubtedly a marsupial of some kind. Further elaborating on his recent interview with the New Zealand Herald, Landis said that although his Tour de France dream is over, a new dream of becoming a Buddhist monk was something he was considering. Or, “Some shit like that.”
Check back again as I’ll get more Landis information as it becomes available.
Tell him to be careful of the Beaver Virus going around down there!!
