America’s biggest stage race, the Amgen Tour of California, rolls out of Sacramento in just a couple of days. This eight-day stage race travels the length of California finishing in Thousand Oaks. Throughout the race Carolina Cycling News will be there with daily updates with a focus on on the Southeast’s own pro cyclists as they contest this major cycling event.
This means I’ll be keeping a special watch on BMC’s George Hincapie and Chris Butler from Greenville, South Carolina; Team Type 1’s Davide Frattini who calls Asheville, North Carolina home; and Matt Crane, an Athens, Georgia resident who races for UnitedHealthcare. Carolina Cycling News will have the video camera rolling and the camera clicking to keep you in the loop. Follow Carolina Cycling News on our @CCN_Live Twitter for up to the moment Amgen Tour of California news. If anyone is going out to the race give me a shout – I’ll be the one wearing the safety orange Waffle House cap.
