Speed Week picked up its tent posts and and relocated to Sandy Springs, Georgia for stop number seven of the series. However, a small contingent of Globalbike boys decided to race the Dylan Mitchel Crit in Fort Mill, South Carolina. With the big national teams missing it was more of the regional crowd.
Globalbike continued their strong season on the local circuit with Ben Miller taking the win. Josh Whitmore gave team sprinter David Forkner the leadout to win the field sprint for fifth. Earlier in the race, Chris Harkey of Gary Fisher made a bid for solo glory and at one point had a maximum gap of over 30 seconds. With no one chasing it was up to the boys in green to organize to bring Harkley back. After a six lap pursuit of the Bary Fisher rider, Harkley was back in the peloton.
Team manager Josh Whitmore said, ” No one was chasing, so Boyd Johnson and I did the team time trial on the front for about six laps to bring him back. We couldn’t let Harkey lap the field! “

Finally a break formed late in the race that included the right combination of riders. One of those riders was Globalbike’s Miller. As the laps counted down the peloton still had the break within it’s sight. However it was apparent that the break would barely stay away and the first through fourth place finishers were coming out of that select group. As Miller crossed the finish line the charging peloton roared down the finishing stretch. Globalbike was at the front and organized for team sprinter David Forkner. Globalbike teammate Whitmore was the last man in the train and launched Forkner who took the field sprint for fifth.
