PedalPopThe weekend of the 18th and 19th isn’t just about national championship jerseys. On Saturday night at the Warehouse Theater, the Pedal Pop Preview Party will be exhibiting bicycle inspired art work. Thirty artists such as Darlene Fuhst, JJ Ohlingrt and Todd McDonald will have their work displayed at this fully catered, ticketed event. Those attending that evening will have the first opportunity to purchase a print from the displayed art.

A live charity auction will conclude the Pop Preview Party which will feature cycling memorabilia and team merchandise. The highlight of the auction are two Trek bicycles, custom hand-painted by two different visual artists. If you’re a fan of the sport this is not an event to be missed.

Tickets are $75 per person in advance and $100 at the door with all the proceeds benefiting Global Bike – an international organization that donates bikes to caregivers in Bolivia, Tanzania,Ethiopia and Rwanda. Also benefiting from the Pedal Pop Exhibit is Team Type 1, a team in which six professional cyclists with type 1 diabetes will participate in the nine-day Tour of Rwanda in effort provide diabetes medication and supplies in Rwanda.

Sunday the Pedal Pop Exhibition is free. Each work will be priced at $100 and will be part of a limited edition series. A portion of all proceeds will go to Team Type 1, Globalbike and the Warehouse Theatre, encouraging the advancement of a healthy culturally-enriched and active lifestyle in the Upstate of South Carolina.
